The Yapunyah Caravan Park is an older style Caravan Park, which sits on the banks of the Bulloo River, and is situated approximately 50 metres from the heart of Thargomindah Township. The Park offers quiet Van, Tent, and Campsites for either Caravanners or Campers with powered and unpowered sites set on a grassed area. There is an older style Amenities Block containing Showers, Toilets and a Laundry. The park is now used as an overflow for the Explorers Caravan Park.

The Yapunyah Caravan Park is the perfect base camp if you want to explore the surrounding regions of the Bulloo Shire and beyond. You can visit Cameron Corner, the Dig Tree or Innamincka, or take a trip down the Dowling Track to Hungerford, and the Currawinya National Park. For the slightly less adventurous, sealed roads lead to Lake Bindegolly, and Eulo to the east or you can travel west to Noccundra, and then venture north to Eromanga, and Quilpie, and return south to Thargomindah via Toompine, and Yowah.

If you want to stay closer to your campsite, you can fish in the Bulloo River or net big blue yabbies for dinner – the River is directly behind the Caravan Park. Take a leisurely walk along the Bulloo River to the Weir, and then to the Cobb & Co Crossing, or you can walk out to the Hydro Power Plant Display on the outskirts of town. There is a Hydro Power Plant demonstration at 4.30pm every day from April to October, which is well worth visiting. While in Thargomindah, visit the historic Thargomindah Hospital building or have a look through Leahy House, which is located right in the heart of town.
